Breckenridge, Colorado – Your Next Go To Adventure

Breckenridge, Colorado – Your Next Go To Adventure

If you have never been to Breckenridge, Colorado make sure it is on your “Future Travels” list. This small little town of 4.9 square miles is home to approximately 4,540 people, 32,000 tourists (annually),  several ski resorts, 5 Rocky Mountain Peaks, hiking trails, fly-fishing, mountain biking, white water rafting, alpine slides and countless unique boutiques and restaurants.

Here are some of the highlights from our recent trip!

Places to Stay:

  • Grand Lodge on Peak 7 – This resort has a waiting list during the peak months, so definitely book in advance. We didn’t have a chance to stay at this resort, but I was able to get a spa treatment here and the grounds are beautiful.  Extra bonus: You can ride the gondolas down to Main Street!
  • Gold Point Resort – We stayed at this resort about 10 minutes away from Main Street. The resort was nice and included a full size kitchen, large table, 2 bathrooms and a gorgeous view. A little off the beaten path, but not a far drive.

Things to Eat:

  • Daylight Donuts – These donuts are delicious and HUGE!  I got an apple fritter and it was literally the size of my head.  Other delicious treats were the glazed donuts and chocolate donuts. We didn’t have enough room, but the cinnamon rolls also looked like a must eat! Only cavet – they only accept cash, but they do have an AMT in the store in case you forget.
  • Columbine Cafe – This was 100% referral and it did not disappoint!  I had waffles, hash browns and coffee and it was all delicious.  The restaurant has a long line, friendly service and from what I hear excellent Bloody Mary’s and Mimosas. Those drinks were flying out of the bar!  Highly recommend you stop here for breakfast!
  • Empire Burger – I could not get enough of the onion rings or the delicious jalapeno ranch dipping sauce!  Literally!  We went back twice, just so I could get a side order of onion rings before we headed home. David had the Bacon Cheese Burger with a Buffalo Patty.  He thought it was cooked perfectly! And I had a club salad (minus the meat, of course) and it was perfect…and left me feeling guilt-free after eating all of those onion rings.
  • Other honorable mentions that we did not get to test out, but highly recommend that you do include:

Things to Do:

The list is really endless. There is so much to do both indoors and out!  Here are a few pictures of our adventures!
